The Church is Open

We are currently open on Sundays for private prayer from 12.00 noon until 4.00 pm. We are also open on Bank Holiday Sundays and Mondays as follows: Easter Sunday and Monday, the early and late May Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday and the August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday between 1.00 pm and 6.00 pm (Sunday) and 1.00 pm and 5.00 pm (Monday), with light refreshments available between 2.00 and 4.15 pm.
Individual and group visits may also be arranged in advance throughout the year by contacting William Ball on 01260 279276 or by email at

Come on a journey through a thousand years of history and hear how John Wesley preached on our steps and how Cromwell’s men rode their horses up the central aisle. There are leaflets to help adults find their way around and a children’s trail to follow. We’ll show you stone carved faces of angels and people who lived long ago, the unique medieval wall painting and the beautiful stained glass.

Of course, although the stones are soaked in hundreds of years of prayer, this is also home to a contemporary Christian church community, so you are very welcome simply to come and experience the presence of God, light a candle and gather your thoughts.
